Ensemble Dal Niente has been a crucial presence on the Frequency Series since it started. In fact, the group performed on the very first Frequency concert in April of 2013. It’s only fitting that this fearless Chicago institution returns to close out the first Frequency Festival. The group revives its much-loved “Hard Music, Hard Liquor” series for the occasion. The program pits intensely virtuosic solo works against larger ensemble pieces. In addition to fearless technical displays, listeners will be treated to the unexpected formal twists and turns of George Lewis's music. Uncompromising and adventurous, this program truly lives up to its name—also included are works by Beat Furrer, Richard Barrett, and Sivan Cohen Elias.
