AFTER LIFE (what Remains) Closing Event

You are warmly invited to celebrate the closing of AFTER LIFE (what remains) at The Alice and Queer Value in our Project Diana space, on Saturday, July 21 from 6-8PM!

The evening will feature readings by local writers and scholars Marites Mendoza, Nejat Kedir, Sarah Dowling, and Woogee Bae who have written in response to the artworks presented by Alejandro T. Acierto, Michael Arcega, Leeroy New / Aliens of Manila, Super Futures Haunt Qollective, Rea Tajiri, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto / Faluda Islam, and Azin Seraj!

Writer Bios:

Woogee Bae is an MFA candidate in Creative Writing and Poetics at the University of Washington Bothell. She has poems in P-QUEUE, Small Po[r]tions, Peach Mag, and elsewhere.

Sarah Dowling is the author of two books of poetry, DOWN and Security Posture, as well as three chapbooks. Sarah's scholarly book,Translingual Poetics, is forthcoming from the University of Iowa Press.

Nejat Kedir is an Ethiopian-American Muslim living as a guest on Duwamish land. Nejat went to UW Bothell and was a Cultural Studies MA student. Nejat is interested in black studies, black feminism, Afro-futurism, and black geography.

Marites Mendoza is a writer, editor and public servant in Seattle, WA. Her writing has appeared in Hyphen and Seattle Globalist, and mostly recently in What’s In Your Cup?, an exhibit currently on view at Wing Luke Museum. She is the writer-in-residence for June-July at The Alice.
